This Mother’s Day, I’m honoured to share a bouquet that holds a very special place in my heart, inspired by my amazing Nan, or as her three grandchildren lovingly called her, Nanish. My Nan was the pillar of our small family—the person everything revolved around. Her love, support, and wisdom were the foundation of my world growing up and losing her just before I turned 18 was one of the greatest heartbreaks of my life.
 
When we asked for flowers at her funeral, it was because we knew how much she adored them. Her garden was always a floral wonderland, and seeing it covered with flowers from the people that loved her inspired me to pursue floristry. I can honestly say that without her, I wouldn’t be doing what I love today. She would have been overjoyed to see the flowers I create now, and I carry her memory with me in every bouquet I design.
 
My Nanish bouquet is a celebration of her playful character, a tribute to the love she gave, and a nod to her home that we all grew up in. The peachy tones and pearly whites of this design remind me of the warmth and joy she brought to our lives. These colours are forever linked to the cherished memories I hold of her and all that she was and still is.
 
The Flowers:
 
This bouquet features Peach Avalanche roses, which symbolise the depth of her love and the softness of her spirit. She had a garden of Roses all in remembrance of her Lenny, my grandad who was the love of her life so I couldn’t not bring them together in this design. White Waxflower adds a delicate touch of purity and elegance, while Gerbera Daisies bring a sense of youthful joy and springtime energy, reminding me of the laughter we shared. The inclusion of White Snapdragons ties everything together, bringing a sense of grace that reflects my Nan’s timeless beauty.
This bouquet is a heartfelt love note to my Nanish, without whom I wouldn’t be here creating these Mother’s Day bouquets for you today. It’s a tribute to the most amazing woman I’ve ever known, and I miss her every single day. I thank the universe daily for blessing me with such a wonderful Nan who shaped the person I am today. There really is no love like a love from your grandparents, so this is your reminder to cherish them whilst you still have them.
